The Red Barron:

I have been busy with my regular day job & different builds, and have finally completed my latest TRACKABOB project. This one is based on one of my favorite models from childhood. The Red Barron. It was a Candy Apple Red T Bucket with a chrome German helmet for a roof. This bike has a 1961 Ducati 350 chrome tank, and that was the basis for & focal point of the build. Yes I know the tank has a small dent in it…but I left it there because of the “Been there - done that” look it gives to the finished project. As with all my projects the help & input from Joe Wiseguy at WISEGUYS Choppers & Customs in Marysville, WA can not be expressed enough. Additionally the folks at American Powder coating in Auburn, WA were just sensational & their finish came out fantastic. Everything else was done by me in my little garage here in Kirkland, WA. Here are the overall specs of this bike:

1980 Yamaha XS 650 Special frame with multiple modifications performed.

1979 Yamaha 650 twin motor converted to CDI motor with 3800 miles.

Modified Stock 38mm Mikuni CV Carbs.

Chrome thick wall header pipes with “cocktail shaker” mufflers.

1961 Ducati Chrome tank with brushed metal finish.

Tapered bearings installed in the steering head.

West Eagle hand fabricated leather solo seat.

Custom made eight ball air filters.

Custom hand fabricated skull tail light assembly.

Custom fabricated aluminum sprockets instrument cluster.

Custom Hand fabricated shorty rear fender.

Custom oil dip stick.

Custom fabricated “surfer foot” brake pedal.

Custom added brakes lights in frame rails for added visibility & safety.

Front disc brakes have a Brembo Brake assembly installed & light weight rotor.

Sealed leak proof battery installed.

The troublesome stock wiring has been eliminated & a through the frame wiring set-up has been installed using just a single fuse for the entire set-up.

This set-up is simple, effective & out of sight.

With the exception of the chrome bits & the high heat epoxy on the engine this bike has no paint on it…it is ALL powder coated!!

I have this bike for sale for $4,500.00 USD Anyone interested in purchasing it or just has questions or comments can contact me at: stcustoms@live.com OR (425) 823-4374 Roger
