XS 650 Sunday Ride: January 28, 2001

On the roadside out in New Orleans East on the New Jazzland Amusement Park Exit.

Up on a levee to get this shot of the roller coaster from the end, at the back of the park. Jazzland also has water sports shows similar to Cypress Gardens in Florida.

Our XS 650 cruiser, we gave and received smiles and a hundred waves from others out on motorcycles for a cruise in the great weather today. The most popular wave is holding your left arm straight out to the left and down a little with your hand wide open like a "low five" and it is returned the same way from an entire line of oncoming riders or just one! 118 miles of smiles today!

We stopped to sneek a peek through the fence at the large circular propulsion fans on the stern of several large US Government Hover Craft where they are made.

Once you past the waterway called "Pass Chef Menteur" with the non accessible old Fort Macomb on the right, all the way to the public accessible Fort Pike on the waterway called "The Rigolets" about 6 miles down highway 90 (Old Spanish Trail) towards Slidell, La. you are cruising through what we call: "The Goondocks" just like the song (boondocks), and in the movie "Goonies". Lots of creative and amusing signs that people name their elevated camps/holmes in this hurricane flood prone area!

This Rube Goldberg wind vane and camp sign had its propellor spinning, and was indicating wind direction, but my camera shutter speed stopped the show.
