Street Tracker Project:
Hi,

are photos of my 1981 XS650, which I am building into a
streettracker. I have been working on it for almost 4
years, finances (and repeatedly changing my mind)
have made progress slow, but I made some real headway
this summer. The bike was given to me by my father, who
originally had the same idea for it, but lost interest. I
liked the idea and ran with it. I pride myself on the
fact that ALL work thus far has been done by myself,
except for buying the seat (Hotwing) and other bolt
on's (Mike's XS). I have done all paint and frame
modifications, drilled the brake rotor, and rebuilt the
engine. Future plans may involve a braced swingarm and
Omars 19" rear wheel conversion, Boyer ignition and
roundslide carbs, and simplified wiring harness. For now,
I just want to get it running and be able to enjoy it
while I am building it. I have used your website for lots
of ideas and motivation. Keep up the good work. Shawn |
