1978 Wiring Diagram:
Hello again,
I just finished wiring my chopper (#994 on this site) and it started on the third kick after sitting for over a year. It's charging at 13.8 so seems fine. Here is a wiring diagram I made for it, 1978 so it’s for points only, very simple and even has turn signals. Hope this will be of some help to someone. I used 2 three way marine waterproof switches, 20 amp for turn (L/off/R) and 20 amp for headlight (lo/off/hi) and a 30 amp two way switch for ignition. Taillight comes on with ignition, head light is wired constant with its own switch. Use 30 amp fuse for main power and 10 amp for all others. I only have one brake switch so just tie in if running front and rear brake lights. My expertise is in automotive electronics (13 years mecp installer) and hi end car audio, NOT making motorcycle harness, but do believe my wiring to be accurate.
