G & L Choppers:
Hello from G&L Choppers. This is the bobber we built for Shane in Hanover, Indiana. It's a 78 XS650. The frame is a G&L Choppers hardtailed frame with 4 1/2 inches of stretch to the rear and stock rake. The 3800 mile motor remains stock except for the 34mm Mikuni carbs that are match ported at the intakes. All motor cases were stripped and polished. Pipes are G&L Choppers Triumph type shotguns made from pieces of mandrel bent tube. The frontend was rebuilt and the brakes upgraded with a drilled, floating rotor, Magura master cylinder. Wheels are stock 16' rear 19' front stripped and polished. Forward controls are G&L Choppers with billet knurled pegs. We used a flat rear fender with G&L stainless steel supports and Sparto taillight with the addition of BLINKER lights. This was the first bike we built with directionals but they don't look bad at all. Tank is obviously a shallow tunnel sporty tank. Bars are Frisco style bars from Biltwell. The electrics were housed in a G&L Choppers round battery/electric box. The seat is something new we're doing. We are working with Gail at Hard Times Custom Leather in Colorado Springs. Gail does custom tooled and plain leather seats. We're supplying Hard Times with our custom seat pans and he can put about any image in the leather. This seat has a new G&L Choppers image tooled into it. The paint is HOK black base, shot with HOK Kandy Apple Base then cleared. Thanks 650motorcycles for posting all our builds. Hope everyone likes it.
