XS 650 Bobber

I built this clear title XS650 Bobber with the intention of keeping it but I have other projects to finish so it needs to go. I was originally going to build a rigid but went with the swingarm, I'm glad I did. I just took it for a 60 mile shakedown run and it rides real nice. It starts in two or three kicks cold and one warm. It's dialed in and is in an excellent state of tune. The transmission shifts smoothly and the front and rear disk brakes work great. I stretched the rear swingarm 3 1/2". It is slugged and v-but welded. The stock shocks were replaced with shorter Honda Rebel shocks that are set on their stiffest setting allowing the fender to hug the tire more closely. I replaced the original HUGE headlight with one from a 1977 Yamaha enduro 100 and replaced the original 6v bulb with a new 12v unit. When I swapped in the new headlight the headlight ears were flipped from side to side to lower the headlight mounting position. The bars are a vintage set of 70's drilled z-bars that I just had to have and payed way to much for, but hey-I didn't get out-bid! The tank is a real Harley Sportster tank that I bead blasted to bare steel along with the stock XS650 side covers and bobbed rear fender. I scuffed the bare steel and clear coated it all. My neighbor and I made the homemade Buckboard seat. The gas cap is my own home-made concoction that mated a stock cap with a wheel spinner. New battery, drive chain, Sparto taillight and home-made license plate side mount. The stock exhaust was slash cut just after the first set of baffles which gives it a nice loud sound without rattling windows. It might not be the most shiney bike in the lot but I guarantee it'll draw a crowd.
