This poker run was held by the Cajun Cruisers motorcycle club, and was open to all motorcyclist. There were hundreds of riders entered at the $15.00 registration fee. The top three riders or rider / passenger teams poker hands won $300.00, $200.00 and $100.00 dollars. There are 5 stops where riders draw cards after the Highway 90 start at Badeaux's Cajun Buffet in Des Allemands, La. and on down Bayou Lafourche all the way to the farthest away stop, number 4 in the middle of the island of Grand Isle, La., at the Gulf of Mexico! At each stop you can buy an extra card for an additional dollar if the first choice does not benefit your hand, and that option gains additional money to benefit the ride. Some free delicious cajun food was available at all of the poker run stops. Checkout the images below! We rode 210 total miles, the actual course was 115.8 miles.

7:30 am Sunday Morning at Badeaux's Cajun Buffet on Hwy 90 in Des Allemands, La.

30 minutes later the parking lot is filling with motorcycles and riders!

We left with the first group out, hoping to get back early before the forecast evening rain with an approaching front. All groups spread out over the course though, and take whatever amount of time they like at each of the different poker run card stops.

There were hundreds of Harley Davidsons, dozens of metric cruisers, several three wheel Honda Interstate type kit bikes, and a VW trike with small wheelie bar wheels. Ours was the only vertical twin we saw, our XS650.

My photo shot over the shoulder while cruising early.

Approaching the Raceland, La. junction of US 90 and Highway La-1, that's where we turn south down the winding bayou LaFourche all the way to the Gulf of Mexico.

Bikes everywhere early at the first stop below.

The "Hawg Tavern" in Lockport, La. on La-1. Stop number 1.

Thought this was interesting, just down the road from the Hawg Tavern, what's up with that coon tail?

The floating and moveable bridge across Bayou Lafourche at Valentine, La.

Second stop was at "Juniors Exxon and Bayou Bar-B-Q" in Larose, Louisiana on La-1.

Bobby "Duece" Bertaut Jr. pulled number 2 cards twice! Plus he is BB#2.

Great free barbeque! They had "build your own" sandwiches and french bread!

Still on the patio at Juniors Exxon and Bayou Bar-B-Q, sportsmen, shrimpers, and industry cruise close by right on the bayou!

Pay attention to Speed Limits in Golden Meadow, La. Revenue radar capital of the world!

Friendy people and places dot the landscape in Bayou Country!

After leaving Golden Meadow, you come to Leeville, La. Gails bait shop on the right above is one of the stores that sells the fishing lures I invented, and is just before our next poker run stop around the curve ahead at "Big Glens" on the right just before the Leeville draw bridge.
