1974 XS 650:

Hi,

Well, partly because of your web-site, I am the new owner of a decrepit "74 XS650. I've owned a 1981 in the past, bought for $400CAN and sold for $800CAN after riding it through a WET west coast winter a few years ago. Wanted an earlier "standard" model and looked for quite awhile before finding this one within 2 hours of my house. Within the first 2 min. of riding it, she tried ti spit me off in a set of "s" bends, in the rain!! Took it for a weekend ride and afterwards this is the run-down: 1) shot swing-arm bushings, 2) blown right-hand shock, 3) chain gaurd worn through/partially snapped off, 4) leaks like a sieve. The bike will start, when it wants to, runs well on the highway, stops(eventually), and seems like a good project piece. The bike will be upgraded/modified till winter and then re-built. Why call it the P.O.C.?
Because right now it's a piece of c**p!!
Keep up the great work!!
