A Few Of My Various Motorcycle Images:
Harley Davidson, Honda, Husky, Suzuki, Pro Stock, Choppers, Drag Bikes, Racers, Dirt Bikes and a Briggs Bike.
My 1966 Harley Davidson Shovelhead was a white and blue police bagger with the big seat, windsheild, foot siren, and 5 gallon tanks. The 3 gallon tanks above are from the last Jefferson Parish Panhead police bike that did not have 5 gallon tanks, the head of the motorcycle police division pulled me over when riding and asked me if I wanted to swap! The police pan head was the last one with 3 gallon tanks. I bobbed the rear by moving the fender tip up to where the seam was for the rear fender hinge, put in a Sifton pushrod hydraulic eliminator kit, put on a smaller headlight and removed the "bit of tin fork covers", 4" over tubes, trimmed the front dresser fender down with an air chisel and sander, put on shorty's and drag pipes with a FX seat and rode it!
"In The Wind" and we are.... |
....cruising to the Mississippi Gulf Coast |
At the Mississippi Beaches on a weekend cruise with my friend Donald, he wanted a panhead real bad and when he found one I went and checked it out with him. He had never ridden a big twin and wanted me to ride it home until he could get used to it. |
My good friend: Donald Micas on his raked 10" over pan. He was killed at work a few years later while driving a truck out of state one night. He took the images of me in the wind above, wish I still had his riding photos I took on the trip with the same camera and gave to him. |

My Husky 400 CR single in Dec. 1973. Think I still have a welp in my foot from that bike and that Moto-Plat ignition.

My Suzuki TM400 (famous toggle switch power band) rode like a Caddilac after riding the Husky. (Bonne Carre Spillway gates at the Mississippi River)

Me riding my Suzuki TM 400 north of Lake Pontchartrain in Enon, La.

Fuzzy Image of my 1973 T500 Suzuki Titan. Also had a 1976 (image link below),
http://www.bertaut.com/Titan500.jpg
it had a disc brake up front, better suspension, bigger tank, and different carbs.
Had 2 KLR Kawasaki's: a Blue & White 650, and the all white smaller one before that.

My GS 550 Suzuki (640cc's)

My Honda CT 70 pit bike, still have it, it is 82 cc's with a Powroll piston kit, ported head and a Powroll camshaft, I gutted the stock pipe from the bottom and welded it back up and bored the stock carb. Degreed in the cam by slotting the sprocket and riding WFO down the street trying it a little advanced and retarded each time, only one long bolt holds the cover on, so I left it where it went the most mph on the stock clock. (nothing is factory stock around here, we even raced the pit bikes at the track when we rented it, see below)

I burnout my GS 1000 Drag bike at the old Houston Dragway.

My first 1978 GS 1000 E Skunk. (Industry nickname because of the white stripes)

My Bertaut & Son Classics hand built custom retro cruiser.

Heres my dyno, we used to rent the track and play with cam timing, ignitions, carbs, clutches, tires etc. at the place it really counted, moving the planet 1/4 mile at a time. Sort of like blasting the pit bike down the street for seat of the pants results. (fan on the left cooling the bike down before the next pass)

My 18 inch Goodyear tire pro bike # 837 above.

This burnout was with my 2nd pro bike #837 (above & below) with a 15 inch car slick.

Me (leather pants) talking to my friend, Allen Mavor (rider for Tracy and Daves Performance Specialties Triple Engine Norton) while waiting in the staging lanes to race my GS1100 Pro Stock Suzuki (15" race tire bike) in the early 1980's.

My pro bike and rider license was #837 in the pro pits above at the NHRA Cajun Nationals in Baton Rouge, La.
