Mike Cooks 900CC Bored and Stroked XS650

Hi Bob, fantastic website, I check it practically every day. Other peoples bikes inspired me to build this one. This current project features a few ideas I have been developing for a while, the laundry list is as follows: 900cc engine 83.5mm x 80mm bore and stroke, Shell forged rods, custom JE pistons, big valves, race cam, Cosworth springs, elephants foot valve adjusters, kevlar clutch etc etc. custom rubber mounted oil cooler and billet adapter, 38mm VM Mikunis and electronic ignition. 1 5/8ths custom bent exhaust system with factory forged flanges bored out... those MAC ones are so ugly. The mufflers are Dunstall replicas on rubber isolation mounts so they wont crack off after 3 weeks. The rearsets are designed to be unobtrusive. They mount on one of the original stubs, the other one is cut off. The brake lever folds back to clear the kicker. The larger kicker is the only way to turn this big engine over with 10.5:1 compression. Watch out for backfires!! Ouch! The stock e-clip and washer on the kickstarter always gets egged out so I eliminated those parts with a stainless pivot pin and cap. Clutch actuation is converted over to hydraulic with a VTX1800 slave cylinder. The master cylinders are RC51. Lines are all teflon braided. Front brakes are XS1100, drilled and painted. Tommaselli bars and headlamp mount. There are still lots of stock parts where they didn't need changing . It goes like stink! If anyone has questions or wants more details I would be happy to help out.
