1970 XS 650 Hardtail:
Hi,
I bought this 1970 XS in 1976. I have ridden it fairly consistently since then. My son has been riding it occasionally the last couple of years. (he was born the year after I got it). Last spring we burned a hole in the left piston. While we had it apart, we decided to make a few alterations. We've had so much fun, we bought a 78 this winter to do it again. The hardtail was effected by bending down the frame beneath the seat and welding it to the swingarm. Sportster 883 tank, Harley seat and pillion. The handlebars are water pipe. The only problem is ground clearance. You have to watch the speed bumps.
