A 1981 XS Bobber:

Hi,

Just thought I would join in the fun. Here are some pics of a bobber I’m building. Hoping to have it done by Feb 2nd for a show, we’ll see. It has taken me about 5mos to get to what you see here.  Most everything you see is custom one off stuff.  The Frame is 1.5 inch to match the back bone, I really like the look of the bigger tubes, of course that came with a lot of pain during fabrication. The seat uses a single bicycle shock rated for 950lbs, my shade tree engineering (my butt bouncing in the seat) tells me it is about perfect. For the front brake I’m using a FZ600 caliper and brembo 320mm rotor actuated by a gsxr600 radial master cylinder all spare parts laying around. Except of course the adapter/mount which I had to mill out myself. The oil/electrical tank took me two weeks to refrabricate. I wanted to sit below the shock perch, in order to make that happen I had to shorten the width by two inches and fabricate a tunnel for the chain to ride in. All that’s left to fabricate is exhaust, that starts tomorrow. I’ll send more pics when its finished. Oh yeah it started life as an 1981 model.

Jeff
