XS650 Cafe Racer In Alaska By Gary Schlabaugh
Hi! Bob,
I have enclosed a couple of pictures of my 1978 650 special that I converted to a "cafe racer". The tank is from a XS 750 triple, the front forks and dual disc brakes are also from the XS750. The seat is from Omars, carbs are 34 mikunis, clip-ons are from Pro-Flow. Frame has been polished, mufflers and headlight brackets are from JC Whitney. Total miles 7800. Ridden about 500 miles a year, riding season in Alaska is very short. The 650 Yamaha only goes out on a nice day. It draws the most attention especially at the Triumph dealer.
