G & L Choppers:
Here's the
latest ride from G&L Choppers in Colorado Spring, Co.
It was built for Duane who lives in Colorado Springs. This
is a run down parts that we used on the build. The frame is
our new 180/200mm frame which has a slight goose neck and 40
degree rake. We used the 200/55/18 out back. The front has a
4' over stock DNA springer with a 21' wheel. For brakes we
used a single 11 1/2' rotor and 4 piston caliper on the
rear. The forward controls are a new style we'll be
offering. They have a three holed radiused arm which moves
the control peg forward. We had them nickel plated. We
used our round battery box which was also nickel plated. The
motor remains mostly stock with upgrades on the electrical and
the addition of 34mm Mikuni VM Carbs. We used a
sportster style tank with a flush mount cap. The
seat is another new item we'll be offering for both
this type a and spring solo application. The main
pan is made of 12 ga. mild steel. We then had a 16 ga.
stainless steel 1 1/2' ring water jetted to use on the
top of the seat. The seat was upholstered and the ring
attached with blackened screw back rivets. We used a 8
1/2' spun rear fender. The handle bars are another new item
we'll be offering. They are made of specifically for the DNA
springers. We used 7/8 DOM and they are completely TIG
Welded. They are low slung to give a clip on
appearance. These were nickel plated as well. Exhaust
are new as well. They are made of 1 3/4' 16 ga tubing
and TIG welded. These were nickel plated and
wrapped. For lights we used a 4 1/2' head light and our radiused
side mount plate holder with a large cateye
taillight. Paint is HOK black. Check out our web site for
more info and picture of this build. Thanks again to
650motorcycles.com for posting our stuff.
