Unfortunately for me half will not be refunded. I really hate the fact I put myself in this position, but when a builder promises you a time frame and reneges on the date, your left to think other things, like where has all my gone so far or why not send me some pictures of what has been made or bought so far. Real easy thing to ask for espeacially when your the owner, builder, office management, and PR guy for your own motorcycles shop. You figure you can stay on top of things and not have to worry about someone else making a mistake and not getting the job done.
Lesson number one for me is not to trust a Bike Builder Out of State again.

For any item like that you should pay in installments never everything up front. Contract.

Guys

If you want some shop to build you a bike, what they wont is how far out the wait time is.what you get is someone else building your bike!
Now lets look at this in both sets of shoes (builder) (buyer)
Buyer first.
1) do you have your own 650 donor bike (yes) Builder only needs to build roller (no) builder needs to source donor bike (wait time)
2)Do you know what you want from builder catalog (Yes) builder uses existing templates and jigs for build (no) builder has to mock up everything, he has to work with you to identify your desires over the e-mails if you supply him pics easier if you dont he has to read your mind (wait time)
3) You change your mind ................builder rolls his eyes in the back of his head ...sighs....and starts again, by either reordering and canceling parts
(Wait time)
Not to mention he has his own problems like the gas tank is back ordered from japan, suppliers are all out and the cost has risen on the stock that's available so his options are jack your prices and piss you off or WAIT fore the back order to arrive.

You really have to put things into perspective Right Builders and you will have to back me up on this, but the best thing is communication and patience, SOMEONE ELSE IS BUILDING YOUR DREAM BIKE NOT YOU, IF YOU WANT IT NOW BUILD IT YOURSELF! I know somebody built my dream bike and I had to wait because I changed my mind ALOT and he had supply issues with the tank. You have to see both sides of the story before you make a decision!

I had to wait 5-6 months for my frame from Tigman. And when he started he said he was 6 weeks out. But thru that time he gave me updates and photos of what was going on, I am suprised G&L has not sent any photo's. They seem like stand up guys.

They are nice guys but really slow. They only have two employees. As a business you don't want to hire to many people and over extend yourself, but they have been slow for awhile.
Josh the other employee is leafing and pinstriping biltwell helmets. It is a really good deal and I got mine in less than a week.

hey marrocks, i have felt your pain. i had G&L build me one about a year ago. it is the orange and black one. was told 3 months from time of deposit. reality: 7 months. was none too happy about that, but all was forgiven when i saw the bike. they did a beautiful job on it, looks awesome, runs perfect, and draws a small crowd everywhere i ride it. dont worry, your bike is coming. scott
