Wait Time For Custom Builds??

Postby MARROCKS on Sat Aug 01, 2009 7:29 am

Do any of you guys know what's the common wait time for a custom build? I am currently awaiting a build by G&L Choppers that is going into it's six month! I understand there is only two employees, Rich and Josh, but each time I ask him when's the bike coming the date get's pushed further back. I'm starting to think some bad thoughts here! Can anyone help? :|

Rich at G&L is a standup guy. They did a hardtail job, forward controls, seat, coil mount, tank work, fender mount and a few other things for me and the work was beautiful well worth the wait. Quality takes time and they are swamped.

Great Scott built a very nice set of one off pipes for me that fit like a champ and the workmanship was superior.

As soon as a get my hot rod motor back from Paul at 650motorcycles.com I’ll start putting this baby together. By the way it has taken longer to get the motor completed than it took G&L.

I recommend G&L, Great Scott, and Paul through experience.

Hi, Jimmy,

I am waiting on your big block kit to come in from MikesXS, they are out of stock right now.
Should not be long.

Thank you,

Paul

They are slow. They have a ton of work and it does take them a while to finish but it will be worth it.

I did get a reply at the end of August from Rich, saying he needed more time. So, now next week I'm going into my 7 month with no Custom Build not complete yet. It's starting to really bother me. I've called Ardcore to find out there build time and John said 4 to 6 weeks. Shit I probally should have gone with them. One thing is for sure no Custom Build out of state for me it will have to be locally. $6,000 and no bike yet, your killing me Larry.

marrocks, maybe try tigman too (tanksbytigman.com) he is a stand up guy too . Otherwise I have heard nothing but good from ardcore. Either one will shoot you straight. Sounds like G&L left you hanging. they probably have not yet started on it, any way you can get your money back, if you put any down?
